Objectives and Scopes: The Commission aims: • to research into the social, economic and legal aspects of contractual arrangements, appointment systems and tendering procedures used in relation to construction projects • to establish and comment upon the practical aims and objectives of contractual arrangements and to define the participants and their responsibilities • to review areas of commonality and differences • to formulate recommendations and the selection and effective implementation of project procurement systems • to compare and contrast standard conventions for the various systems of project procurement generally and specifically • to report and liaise with relevant CIB Working Commissions and Task Groups Current Work Programme: Within its Work Programme W092 aims: • To organise regular meetings to enable experts to come together, in order to discuss ideas and developments with a view to helping establish more effective procurement strategies • To encourage experts to present learned papers to their peers concerning construction procurement and to arrange, where appropriate, for their publication through the mechanism of CIB • To produce bulletins reflecting and comparing current practice in the procurement of construction at both national and project level. W092 has established a Task Group on; • PPP - Public Private Partnership, with as Task Group Leader: Assic.Prof.Dr. Mohan Kumaraswamy, Hong Kong University In addition W092 has the following ongoing projects: • Collection of models related to procurement issues as input to the CIB Compendium on Performance Based Building Models • Sustainability and procurement.
